“Every season it gets darker,” revealed Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler in Netflix’s hit show Stranger Things, warning fans that the upcoming season is going to be the darkest.

In a q with Tom Power interview on CBC, the actor shared, “Really, I will say like season 3 I was like, this is the darkest season that there’ll ever be, like exploding rats and everything. But really, like, season 4 so far, it is the darkest season there has ever been. Every year it gets amped up. Every year it gets funnier and darker and sadder and everything. Every year they amp it up. So I’m really excited for people to see it, and we’re still filming it.”

The fourth season is currently in the works, with more than a year-and-a-half having gone by since Season 3 ended on Netflix.
